A New Hope From an Old Source

To know now what we could never have know before 1969 – that we now have an option for all humanity to “make it” successfully on this planet in this lifetime – is not to be optimistic. It is only a validation of hope, a hope that had no operationally forseeable validity before 1969. Whether it is to be Utopian or Oblivion will be a touch-and-go relay race right up to the final moment.

Argh!!!

Blosxom just screwed up the ordering of my entries below. I know part of this is probably because I use Unison to synchronize my files between my Windows boxes and my unix server… or maybe it’s because I edited one of those old entries. Damnit, I don’t know, but it’s annoying. I’ll fix it later.

A Familiar Friend

Now that I have my project set up on Sourceforge, I have to use CVS to manage the code. At my day job, we use ClearCase to manage our code. New Items

I’ve just added a few new things to the sidebar at the right. These won’t appear on the other pages of the site (not that there are exactly a lot of them), they’re just sort of complement to the weblog section (front page, you could call it) of this site. Bookmarker Added to Sourceforge

I’ve recently set up one of my projects that I’ve been working on in my spare time on Sourceforge. It’s in the nav bar at the right (under the projects link) if you want to check it out. It’s just a simple tool for keeping a set of bookmarks in a centralized repository, but I have big plans for it…. Big plans indeed. More to come.

Wow...

It’s been a while since I updated this. I just finished setting up (well, finished is a loaded word, I guess) blosxom to be the default homepage for my site. Clearly (as the previous post indicates) I started down this path a while back, but other things…. The tough part was not, of course, setting up blosxom (although I do find that I’m constantly misspelling the name - it caused me quite a bit of confusion trying to synchronize my desktop system with my server).

Welcome to My Blog

This is the first entry in my new blog. I’m trying out blosxom for the first time. I believe I will probably be making some simple modifications to it though. For one, I don’t see any reason for it not to be a bit more flexible in it’s templating so I’ll probably add support for the HTML::Template module. That’ll come later, though. For now it’s simple, easy to use and quick to setup.
